    0. Lyrics to song

Chet Atkins Gretsch with Vox wah-wah + Onko overdrive.
Meinl tambourine, Meinl shakers, LP guiro, Nux looper+drums.

    Intro:
    We stand up for democracy,
    we're steadfast in every way
    We oppose sly demagoguery,
though free speech must still hold sway (x2)

    1):
    We and singularity,
    scant compatibility

Excellence struggles to hold its head proud,
strong undertows emanate from the crowd

    Public opinion the golden assay,

dictating the plot of what people can say
    Cacophonous chattering sprouts sweet success,

riding a wave across the abyss

    Ref. 1):
    Striving with earnest assiduity,
    avoiding the shoals of mediocrity

The siren calls of public acclaim,
do they not rather deserve deep disdain, deep disdain, deep disdain?

    2):
    Bent on unscrupulous manipulation,
duping the masses with skilled provocation,
selling them lies that tickle their taste,

stoking their fears to spew out their hate

There's many a ploy to bolster illusions,
prolonging the game by sowing confusion,
beguiling the mind to keep on the surface,
that covers the grotesquely burgeoning surplus

    Ref 2):
    Beware the public's seductive carress,
    adulterate not your ownmost best
    Resist the temptation to compomise,
    self-surrender were ill-advised, ill-advised, ill-advised

    Outro:
    We stand up for democracy,
    we're steadfast in every way
    We oppose sly demagoguery,
though free speech must still hold sway (x2)
